Infrastructure for International Cooperation
The United Institutions will provide organizations within the international community with a unifying framework, enabling environment and comprehensive infrastructure for international cooperation. The UI will feature global forums in international affairs, a permanent platform for organized recurring meetings and conferences; engagement with leading global institutions; coordination with intergovernmental and national mechanisms; secretariat support functions; a permanent world forum and venue, dedicated conference and meeting facilities and office space. The United Institutions will be networked enabling engagement, and collaboration both face-to-face and online..
The infrastructure will support and enable the organizations to engage in continuous international cooperation and development, improve coordination and communications, develop comprehensive development strategies, implement systemic change, strengthen existing institutions and mechanisms, enable integration across thematic areas, improve efficiency, and help meet objectives for the sector as whole, at global, regional, national and local levels.

Cooperation between the Public, Private and Civil Sectors
The world forum is designed to advance international cooperation between the public, private and civil sectors, and to strengthen the international community's new paradigm of multi-stakeholder cooperation - partnerships that build upon the participation, expertise and resources of stakeholders from all the sectors in developing and implementing solutions to meet the challenges of the 21st century.
The UI will provide organizations within the international community with a permanent framework and improved capacity to engage with major actors and consortia of institutions from the public, private and civil sectors; develop and manage multi-stakeholder initiatives; facilitate development of a systemic approach to partnerships; and to foster continuity, coherence and comprehensive development strategies.

Coordination with National and International Institutions
The United Institutions is being developed to enable and facilitate close interaction and coordination with national and international institutions, the United Nations and global policy networks. These processes will be supported by the Global Forums and logistical support from the UI Secretariat's Office for International Cooperation.
