United Institutions Secretariat


The United Institutions Secretariat will be responsible for management, administration, support services, UI global forum logistics, global connectivity and an extensive knowledge network.

International Cooperation

The United Institutions Office for International Cooperation (OIC) will be responsible for managing the UI global forums, partnerships,  global connectivity and logistics, as well as managing and facilitating coordination with the United Nations, international organizations and global networks of organizations involved in the fields of international peace and security, sustainable development, international development, human rights and humanitarian affairs.

OIC will
also function as a resource for UI members, tenants and external organizations, providing research, analysis, strategic advice, facilitation, brokering support, guidance and information on international cooperation, coordination and partnerships. The service will cover a range of issues such as partnership building, harmonization, coordination, cross-sectoral integration, precedents, best practices, lessons learned, minimizing duplication, continuity, coherency, inclusion and participation, transparency, accountability, and relations with stakeholders, local communities, and national and international institutions.

Conference Management

The United Institutions Department for Conference Management (UIDCM) will support the UI Global Forums and stakeholder led meetings and conferences. The department will provide the meeting framework for the Global Forums and stakeholder engagement,  technical support and advice; facilitation services, brokering services, meeting planning, coordination and scheduling, conference room management and services; as well as documentation management.

Management and Administration

The United Institutions Office for Management and Administration (OMA) will be responsible for administration, operations, member services and facilities. It will also be responsible for managing joint procurement options for tenant organizations.
​

Knowledge Network

The UI will manage an extensive knowledge network that will enable tenants and external organizations to network, post, share and search information on initiatives, partnerships, programs, projects, research, policies and news. It will also contain information about secretariat services, cooperative processes and the global forums.
